The long answer

Why we build this way.

Because nature is medicine.
Because luxury is spaciousness.

It started as a conviction, not a complaint: there should be beautiful tents in the world.

I was a product development engineer at PopSockets. So I did what engineers do, and went looking at what already existed.
Canvas takes four people. Nylon lasts three trips.
"Luxury" inflatables were PVC in a nicer box.

The tent did not need a better version. It needed a makeover, down to the frame. That lit me up in a way a day job could not hold, so I quit and did this full time.

So I sketched.
One person. Ten minutes. A hand pump.
Zero PVC. Nearly 300 bottles in every tent.

I believe the most audacious thing a woman can be is relaxed.

A hundred prototypes.
A thousand nights in the field.
One hailstorm in Utah I still think about.

Everything else on this site is downstream of that.

My mom is an artist. My dad is an engineer.
The OmegaTent is both: a fine-art canopy on a patented airframe.
Mom and I hand-sew the reCreation Gear line in Wheat Ridge. Dad keeps the numbers.
Evelyn runs the inbox from the Philippines.
The tents are manufactured to my tech pack.
